DAWN
OF THE REPLICANTS – THE SINGLES COLLECTION
SOUND: ‘BUST
THE TRUNK’ - the singles
Following in the long history of greatest hits 45 collections
and golden moments on their 10th anniversary Dawn Of The Replicants
bring you a singles collection that rivals ‘Abba Gold’
and the ‘Complete Miles Davis’ in the category ‘most
electrifying compilation’.
‘Bust the Trunk’ pop’s the A side Padlock
and lets you peek-a-boo through a stunningly diverse assortment
of richly different tracks that will inspire and delight you.
Fashions and trends blow like mists through the night but The
Replicants have always delivered and here’s the proof...
22 tracks side by side like slices of granny’s gingerbread
chew. From the kaleidoscopic pop set out by their scrapes with
the charts ‘Candlefire’ and ‘Hogwash Farm’
to the stunning groove hungry gin soaked fire brands of late
‘Rockefeller Centre 1932’,’Fix the Air’,
‘Everyone in Heaven is Afraid of Heights’.
Mr David ‘Hollywood film soundtracks’ Holmes and
Tim ’LCD Soundsystem’ Goldsworthy are included via
their remix of the Replicants track ‘Skullcrusher’
- which will be lifted as a single later this year with it’s
own little fluffy monster’s on holiday video and a new
2006 Replicants version.
"DOTR are a
wonky delight....the Da Vinci of lyrical invention"
MOJO
DOTR are a national treasure, a Bastian
of all that is anti cool, pure hearted and god damned different;
John Peel loved them and so should you it’s not only time
to ‘Bust the Trunk’ but to bust your peepers too.
“genuine psychedelic
pop perfection” Rock

VISION: ‘BUST
YOUR PEEPERS’ - the videos plus
Ah yes it’s a game of 2 halves. Dawn of the Replicants
also offer you over 100 minutes of Pop videos, live footage
and interviews in the form of their ‘Bust Your Peepers’
free bonus DVD. This limited edition offers viewers the chance
to skip through the Replicants visual archive which includes
the ‘Hogwash Farm’ video, directed and produced
by the team behind the cult classic ‘Man Bites Dog’
plus the recently MTV approved videos for ‘Oh Bumblebee’
and ‘Fix the Air’ as well as other video gems such
as the recently recovered, joy division-esk live flick for ‘Cocaine
on the Catwalk’ and the deliciously punky ‘Rice
Cake Rabbit Soul’ video.
On Top of all of this there are 2 fly on the wall documentaries
in the form of the East West years; a tour diary of their 1998
British Tour which also covers the recording of their ‘
Wrong Town, Wrong Planet, Three hours late’ LP and their
vitriolic Reading Festival Performance. It’s sister matinee
documents the band’s recent trip to Texas to play the
South by South West Festival, giving you an intimate and funny
look at the life of being a Replicant, no champagne lunches
for these boys, that would be too easy, instead lot’s
of Mexican food, line dancing and trampolining.
"DOTR don't
so much plough their own furrow as invent an entirely new farm
in which all the livestock speak Spanish and wear funny hats,
they are, as hip hoppers say, on some other shit" NME
I kid you not it’s here and it’s
happening and there’s no reason for anyone to miss out!
